University of the West's Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Jane Iwamura, will join Be the Refuge author Chenxing Han in a live online conversation hosted by The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford University on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

With Be the Refuge, Chenxing Han challenges popular bifurcating models of American Buddhism and gives voice to Asian American Buddhists, a surprisingly underrepresented group within the complex smorgasbord of American Buddhism.

Given Dr. Iwamura's research on the intersection of Asian American religions, race, and popular culture, this should be a spirited and stimulating discussion.
