Work Pray Code: When Work Becomes Religion in Silicon Valley
Please feel invited to attend a conversation with Carolyn Chen on her latest book “Work Pray Code: When Work Becomes Religion in Silicon Valley.” Work Pray Code explores how tech companies are bringing religion into the workplace in ways that are replacing traditional places of worship, blurring the line between work and religion and transforming the very nature of spiritual experience in modern life.
Bio:
Carolyn Chen is Professor of Ethnic Studies at UC Berkeley, Co-Director of the Berkeley Center for the Study of Religion, and Executive Director of the Asian Pacific American Religions Research Initiative. Her research focuses on Asian American religion, as well as religion, spirituality, and work in contemporary America.
