We will continue our conversation on who is and who is not included in the category of western Buddhism. We welcome Venerable Juewei as a guest for our Zoom series on Dis-orienting the Conversation on Buddhism in the West. Venerable Dr. Juewei is not only a UWest alumni but also the Director of our sister institution, the Nan Tien Institute’s Humanistic Buddhism Centre.
Juewei is our third guest following two inspiring conversations last year with Funi Hsu (San Jose State) and, of course, Venerable Miao Guang, Deputy Chancellor and Director of the Department of International Affairs at the Fo Guang Shan Institute of Humanistic Buddhism.
We will chat with her about her way into Buddhism, learn more about the work of our sister institute in Australia, and explore an important yet often overlooked Buddhist cultivation practice, prostrations. Please register below.
