The Humanistic Buddhism Research Centre at University of Malaya will hold a scholar conference on Saturday, October 9, 2021, from 10am to 5pm (Malaysia time). The event will be solely remote on Zoom.
The keynote speakers will feature our own Emeritus Professor of Religious Studies, Dr. Lewis Lancaster, and Dr. Chen Chien Huang, Director of the Center for the Study of Humanistic Buddhism, CUHK.
The conference will highlight two categories, academic and literature and arts. On the academic front, the topics will center on the practice of Humanistic Buddhism within the reality of the COVID-1 global pandemic, as well as the development of Buddhism in Southeast Asia.
In the literature and arts category, the conference will focus on the theme of "faith and legacy," as expressed through prose, poetry, literary reportage, book review, and other writing styles.
The event will be broadcast bilingually in English and Chinese. Registration is free and open to everyone.
